Description.
Head
. Ochraceous to chestnut, ochraceous mark on supra-antennal plate. Head including eyes narrower than mesonotum but as broad as anterior of pronotum. Eyes ochraceous with dark brown spots. Elongate ochraceous spot along epicranial suture posterior to central ocellus. Two small ochraceous spots between lateral ocellus and eye. Postclypeus globosely produced anteriorly, ochraceous, lighter brown around transverse grooves, ochraceous to piceous in
paratypes
, broad chestnut mark at base, centrally sulcate, transverse grooves marked with dull brown. Anteclypeus keel ochraceous, laterally dark brown, scarce pile laterally, black with dense pile in some
paratypes
. Rostrum dull ochraceous with black tip, considerably passing middle coxae, scarce pile posterior to eye and on head, dense white pile posterior to eye and on ventral head in some
paratypes
.
Pronotum
. Ochraceous with some chestnut markings, medial chestnut longitudinal fasciae on either side of midline, joining at base forming a V shape. Fissures brown. Small transverse chestnut mark in mid-lateral posterior ambient fissure expanding onto disc and pronotal collar (absent in
one paratype
), extending to lateral spot on lateral margin of pronotal collar. Pronotal collar ochraceous, lateral margins obliquely angulate, lateral angles ampliate.
Mesonotum
. Chestnut brown. Two parallel ochraceous lines extending along parapsidal suture, continuing to anterior arms of cruciform elevation, expanding medially on disc posterior to parapsidal sutures into a nearly square ochraceous mark. A medial ochraceous line from base to apex, dull in
paratypes
. Median and lateral sigilla chestnut brown. Lateral margins with large ochraceous spot. Scutal depression chestnut brown. Cruciform elevation ochraceous, dorsally marked with black. Ventral thorax ochraceous, covered with scarce pile. Fuscous marks on episternum 2, small castaneous marks on katepisternum 2, anepimeron 3 and episternum 3. Male operculum (
Fig 1e
) broad, slightly narrowing toward apex, rounded, strongly oblique posteriorly, ochraceous covered with scarce white pile, reaching posterior to sternite II. Meracanthus broadly triangular, ochraceous with piceous base. Female operculum (
Fig
1g
) rounded obliquely, depressed medially. Medial margin narrowly lobate. Legs ochraceous with dark brown longitudinal markings. Fore femora strongly marked with fuscous laterally, armed with three fuscous spines with black tips. Primary spine longest and angled, secondary spine of intermediate size and apical spine shortest. Tibial spurs and tibial comb fuscous with black tips.
Wings
. Fore wings and hind wings hyaline. Venation castaneous proximally becoming ochraceous distally. Fuscous mark on arculus. Fore wings with eight apical cells. Radial and radio-medial cross-veins lightly infuscated. Linear fuscous mark in anterior basal cell, black in
paratypes
. Basal membrane dull reddish. A small elongate narrow cell at apex of claval area. Hind wings with six apical cells. Dull reddish on either side of anal vein 2 and 3.
Abdomen
. Male tergite 1 ochraceous fuscous, posterior margins fuscous, dark fuscous in
paratypes
. Male tergite 2, dark brown medially and laterally. Tergites 3
–
8 dull fuscous, posterior margins ochraceous with dense white pile. Timbal covers dark ochraceous with margin narrowly black, dark fuscous to castaneous in some
paratypes
. Timbal (
Fig 1f
) with eight long and
seven intercalary
ribs. Sternites fuscous, posterior margins ochraceous with scarce white pile, silvery dense pile laterally on sternites and epipleurites.
Male genitalia
. Pygofer (
Fig 1b
) with upper lobe rounded, basal lobe almost triangular; aedeagus (
Fig 1c
) elongate, sinuate variously, one long, downward spine, two spines intermediate and one short spine; claspers (
Fig 1d
) recurved with apex narrowly rounded, claspers meet medially.
Female genitalia
. Abdominal segment 9 fuscous dorsally and laterally and dark ochraceous on tip of dorsal beak. A laterally broad notch medially in sternite VII (
Fig 1h
) with fuscous spot on either side of midline. Ovipositor fuscous to black extending to dorsal beak.
