Remarks.
Asterinides
includes four valid species, all of them originally described in different genera:
A. folium
,
A. hartmeyeri

Döderlein, 1910
)

A. pilosa

A. pompom

)
. All of these species occur in the Western Atlantic Ocean, especially in the Caribbean Sea, and
A. folium
is the only one found in the southern hemisphere.
