3.65 mm
. LFW
2.51 mm
. Maximum wing width
1.07 mm
. Color. Head and mesosoma black; metasoma dark castaneous.
Head
. Mandible with five apical teeth. Clypeus with median lobe subtrapezoidal; median tooth rounded; median carina complete apically or nearly so, angled in profile. Ratio of first four antennal segments about 14:7:6:5. Frons strongly coriaceous, punctures large. LH 0.95 × WH, WF 0.63 × WH, WF 1.26 × HE, OOL 1.23 × WOT, DAO 0.35 × WOT, posterior ocelli distant from vertex crest 1 × DAO, frontal angle of ocellar triangle right, VOL 0.68 × HE. Vertex crest weakly concave. Occipital carina not visible in dorsal view.
Mesosoma
. Pronotal disc strongly coriaceous, anterior margin ecarinate. Notauli deep, complete, widening posterad, converging posterad. Propodeal disc 0.55 × as long as wide; basal triangle rugulose, posterolateral area rugulose; median carina complete; lateral margins strongly convex, parallel; posterior carina well-defined, straight. Lateral of propodeum mostly striolate. Propodeal declivity mostly rugulose-strigate.
Metasoma
. Tergal process with deep, subtriangular and sublateral pair of depressions; depressions with external lateral margin higher than internal lateral margin, 0.83 × as long as tergite II, diverging posterad, distant on top with short and dorsad tuft of setae (
Figs 27–30
). Hypopygium with median stalk 1.15 × as long as hypopygeal plate; median stalk narrow; corner of anterior margin angular; lateral stalk of hypopygium 0.11 × as long as median stalk; posterior margin strongly concave; corner angalute (
Fig. 104
).
Genitalia
(
Figs 159–161
). Genital ring produced, each half convex in dorsal view. Basiparamere with dorsal surface much wider apicad, much narrower than ventral surface. Paramere with basal area wider than basiparamere apex; apex rounded; apical margin weakly concave in ventral view, not curved; inner margin of ventral surface with triangular spine at median region. Basivolsella setose, with several thin, short and apical setae. Cuspis biramous. Aedeagus 3.72 × as long as wide; dorsal body of aedeagus wider basally, narrowing abruptly apicad, lateral margin strongly convex basally, parallel, not curved dorsad, apex with two pair of outer lobes; dorsal pair 1 × as long as wide, straight, with apex subangulate and dorsad, outer lateral with laminar process, elliptical, with lateral surface wider than dorsal and ventral surfaces; ventral pair tubular, short, slightly arched, laterad, with apical margin rounded and surface smooth, much shorter than dorsal lobe of aedeagus; base of dorsal body of aedeagus strongly sclerotized, weakly concave, with median region bilobate; ventral ramus of aedeagus as high as dorsal body, lateral margin straight, evenly narrow and base as narrow as apex. Apodeme extending beyond genital ring.

metasoma varying between dark castaneous with castaneous spots or fully castaneous; frontal with punctures small, shallow and irregularly sparse; vertex crest straight; lower tooth of mandible sub-angulate; last flagellomere with angulate apex; placoid sensillae elliptical; eye gibbous; scutellar groove slightly convex; ventral outer lobe of aedeagal dorsal body straight, varying between very short (apical margin of ventral pair not reaching basal region of ventral pair) and short (apical margin of ventral pair aligned with median region of ventral pair).
Remarks.
Dissomphalus verus
sp. nov.
is similar to
D. browni
because of the following characteristics: hypopygium with long and narrow median stalk, lateral margins slightly convergent posterad, posterior margin with angulate corners, dorsal outer lobe of aedeagal dorsal body with laminar process, ventral outer lobe of dorsal body short and arched; aedeagal ventral ramus as long as dorsal body, apex with triangular cross-section. However,
D. verus
sp. nov.
differs from
D. browni
as follows: lateral stalks of hypopygium triangular, apical region of median stalk with constriction, posterior margin slightly sinuous; base of paramere wider than basiparamere apex; base of aedeagal dorsal body wide, laminar process sickle-shaped with apical margin strongly concave; outer ventral lobe of dorsal body strongly arched with round apex.
