Distribution. Afrotropical (including Madagascar), Australian, Eastern Palaearctic and Oriental regions (Fig. 341). Ecology. Species in this genus are mainly associated with plants in the family Malvaceae (cf. Jolivet and Hawkeswood 1995 ). Notes. About seventy species of this genus are known to occur in Madagascar and Sub-Saharan Africa.
