Differs from B. kalischewskyi , the only consubgener remaining accepted, in the particularly small body, the nearly fully obliterate metatergal sculpture, the absence of sphaerotrichomes, and the presence of only a single apical tooth on the gonopod exomere; from B. simplex sp. n. primarily by the particularly slender male legs, the narrower paraterga and the considerably shorter exomere of the gonopod. Name. To commemorate the late Dr. Eristo Sh. Kvavadze, a prominent specialist in the earthworms of the Caucasus and a close friend of the first author. Description. Length 5 6 mm , width of midbody metazonae 0.65 0.7 mm (male), metazonite to prozonite width ratio ca 1.3 ( Fig. 26A ). Coloration uniformly pallid to light brown. All characters as in B. assimilis ( Fig. 28 ), except as follows. In width, collum <2 = 3 <4 <head = 5. Paraterga poorly developed, their fore margins and anterolateral corner largely broadly and regularly rounded, not angular; caudolateral corner mostly acute-angled, pointed or nearly pointed and drawn behind rear tergal margin only in segments 17 and 18 ( Fig. 28A ). Tergal setae mostly very short and subbacilliform. Metatergal sculpture nearly fully obliterated. Male prefemora not bulging laterad, slender; sphaerotrichomes wanting ( Fig. 28B ). Gonopod ( Fig. 28C 28D ) bipartite, stout, endomere ( en ) typically bifid and partly pilose, but exomere ( ex ) long, with only a single, apical, rounded tooth ( e ).
