Allium scorodoprasum
Linnaeus
,
Species Plantarum
1
: 297. 1753
.
"Habitat in Oelandia, Dania, Pannonia." RCN: 2355.
Lectotype
(de Wilde-Duyfjes in
Taxon
22: 83. 1973): Herb. Linn. No. 419.12, left specimen (
LINN
)
.
Current name:
Allium scorodoprasum
L.
(
Liliaceae
/
Alliaceae
).
Note:
Stearn (in
Biol. J. Linn. Soc.
5: 9. Mar 1973), in an account of
Linnaeus'
Oeland
and Gotland journey of 1741, treats
Oeland
as the restricted type locality, and noted the existence of 419.12 (LINN). In this paper, he attributed restricted type localities irrespective of whether any material existed in LINN and, where specimens do exist, he does not refer to any of them as type specimens. The collection previously designated as the type by de Wilde-Duyfjes (28 Feb 1973) shows no annotation expressly associating it with
Oeland
. Lee (in
Bull. Korea Pl. Res.
1: 2. 2000) illustrated the type (as plate 1A). Stearn (in
Herbertia
11: 17, f. 118, right. 1944) had earlier reproduced the cited Clusius plate.
