Opinion: The site of collection of this species is unknown, but it was probably in the region. However, its true identity is unknown. Justification: Literature analysis : This species was described as being from the collection of Wood-Mason, who was Director of the Indian Museum and sailed on the “ Investigator ”, but no location or illustrations were given. Although Kükenthal treated the species as an Echinomuricea it is not identifiable. Rao & Devi (2003) listed it as occurring in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with no evidence.
