This South American species is fast spreading and considered invasive in large parts of the Mediterranean area, including
Italy
(
Celesti-Grapow
et al.
, 2009a
). In the
Piemonte region
it was known from Torino and Cuneo provinces (
Pistarino
et al.
, 1999
) but not yet from Alessandria.
