Examined material.
1 an. and 7 sh. (MACN-In 40708).
Description.
Shell height to
2.3 mm
(up to
3.5 mm
according to
Dell 1990
); elongate-ovate, delicate.
Protoconch smooth, of 1.5 slightly convex whorls. Teleoconch of up to 2 whorls, slightly convex in outline; last whorl comprising about 85% of total shell height. Suture deep, slightly channeled. Surface white; only sculptured with faint growth lines. Aperture ovate, wider anteriorly than posteriorly; interior white; columella with a strong fold; callus narrow, slightly expanded over the umbilical area.
Remarks.
In shell morphology the material here examined closely resembles
Toledonia elata
, from which however it differs by having a straight (instead of angulated) columella.
