Off-bottom pelagic (Parin and Pakhorukov 2003). Depth: 30–800 m ( 100–2,624 ft ) (min.: Fitch and Lavenberg 1968 ; max.: Nakabo in Nakabo 2002 ). We note that some records of this species may have been confused with the recently described Zenopsis filimentosa Kai and Tashiro, 2019 .
