Distribution IT-ITA ( Liguria to Calabria ), NL, SM. Habitat Many biotopes from sea level to the alpine grasslands (at least to 2350 m ). Castanea forest, maquis with Carpinus , under Quercus laurifolia , in Laurus-Quercus suber forest. In the leaf litter of mixed deciduous woodland in the Netherlands , presumably introduced from Italy to The Hague, where it is well established. Known from caves. Remarks There are some possible errors in the determination of the C. apenninorum group. See, e.g., Strasser (1970) .
