An abundant planktonic species, occurring mostly in lakes, ponds and reservoirs. In this study, D. dubium was found mostly in autumn samples. Widespread in South-East and East Asia , distributed north up to the Amur River basin, common in China ( Xiang et al. 2015 ; Korovchinsky 2018 ; Liu et al. 2018; Dumont et al. 2021 ).
