Diagnosis Omorgus persuberosus is similar in appearance to O. suberosus and O. triestinae , but is usually larger than the latter two species. In addition, O. persuberosus have a distinct glabrous area on the inner ventral surface of the mesotibiae, which is either reduced or absent in the other two species ( Figures 5d and 6d ). Geographic distribution Omorgus persuberosus is widespread across South America ( Vaurie 1955 , 1962 ; Scholtz 1990; Smith 2017 ). In Brazil is has been recorded across the Amazonia ( AC , PA), Cerrado ( MG , DF , TO , MS , SP , GO), Caatinga (PI), Atlantic Forest ( PB , SP , RJ , MG , ES , PR , SC , RS) and Pampa (RS) biomes ( Figure 10 ).
