is distinguished from other members of
Ambrysini

) by the following suite of characteristics: shallow convexity of the posterior margin of the head; glabrous and impubis mediosternites V–VIII (males) and V–VII (females); wide lateral band on the abdominal venter in both sexes; diagonally offset mesal margins of laterosternites; and males with large, posterolaterally directed medial lobes of tergum VIII (pseudoparameres) that overlap the lateral lobes, symmetrical parameres, ventral margins or lobes of the phallosoma without teeth, and no accessory genitalic process of tergum VI.
