Specimens examined. 1♀ , Jazan , Abu Aresh , Al-Mahdag village , 4.iii.2013 , Malaise trap , H.A. Dawah ( CERS ) ; 1♂ , 1♀ , Asir , Abha , Hay Al-Nusub ( Abha Farm Centre ), 3.iii.2001 , Malaise trap , H.A. Dawah ( NMWC ) . Distribution. This species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Dawah & Abdullah (2006) ; El-Hawagry et al. (2017) . It was described from Cameroun and further recorded from Ghana , Sierra Leone and Yemen ( Sabrosky 1980 ; Deeming & Al-Dhafer 2012 ). However, there is much material of E. rugosa in NMWC from Nigeria , Ghana , Mali and Kenya . Remarks. This species was placed in correct generic combination by Becker (2010a) in Epimadiza . The specimens of this species shows considerable variation in the development of their fore femoral armature. Sabrosky (1947) cited two rearing records from Sierra Leone , being from a cassava stem and “ex Ceroplastes on coffee”. One of us (J.C. Deeming) has reared it from the mines of Alcidodes ( Coleoptera : Curculionidae ) in the fibre crop rama ( Hibiscus sp.) in Northern Nigeria : Zaria Province, Jemma’a, Pawadina, Tudun Guadi, 29.viii.1966 .
