Bundoksia sibuyania Lucañas sp. nov . : (a) Male habitus; (b) Female habitus; (c) Head; (d) Posterior margin of metanotum and 1 st abdominal segment; (e) Prothoracic leg; (f) Hind tarsomere; (g) Male supraanal plate; (h) Male genitalia and subgenital plate. Male ( Figure 3 (a)): Vertex slightly exposed. Head black ( Figure 3 (c)). Ocelli present, beside the antennal socket. Pronotum black, trapezoidal, posterior margin rounded. Tegmina well developed, apically rounded, extending beyond the abdomen. Wings well-developed. Fore femur type A 2 with several elongate setae ( Figure 3 (e)). Mid femur and hind femur sparsely spined. Hind metatarsus distinctly longer than the remaining tarsomeres combined, armed with two rows of spine with minute apical pulvilli ( Figure 3 (f)). Tarsal claws simple, symmetrical.Arolium present. Hind margin of metathorax with mesal trapezoidal evagination, lateral base of which are shallowly excavated. First abdominal tergite with setose gland ( Figure 3 (d)). Succeeding abdominal tergites unspecialised. Supra-anal plate almost truncate, with slight mesal indentation ( Figure 3 (g)). Cerci elongate, terminally pointed. Subgenital plate symmetrical ( Figure 3 (h)). Style similarly sized. Male genitalia as illustrated ( Figure 3 (h)): L2 terminally acute; L4C with two patches of barb-like structure; L3 scythe-like, with distinct sub-apical tooth at the base of the notch; R1H membranous except for several tooth-like apical structures; R2 bulbous, with deep mesal invagination, anteriorly rounded, inner margin striated. R3 anterior portion acute. L4G (Ventral phallomere) reduced, anterior margin weakly sclerotised. Female ( Figure 2 (b)): similar to males except for the following: Pronotum parabolic, posterior margin almost straight. Tegmina triangular, reaching up to the hind margin of metathorax. Hindwing reduced to triangular pads with little venation. Supra-anal plate truncate, symmetrical. Subgenital plate valvular. Known distribution. Philippines : Sibuyan Island. Etymology. Named after its type locality, Sibuyan Island. Ecology. Little is known about the behaviour of this species. Unlike B. rufocercata , B. sibuyania were found singly on crevices of tree stumps. A single female specimen was caught in a pitfall trap.
