Comments: According to Barber & Sailer (1953) , many of the early records of Amaurochrous dubius should be referred to this species. Hoffman (1971) gave the distribution for this species as “Southeastern United States , from Maryland to Louisiana ”; we have not found an authentic published record for Maryland .
