Diagnosis.
This species can be distinguished by the sacculus having a free, gradually widened distal process, and with a spine-shaped dorsal process that is fused with the valva distally, and the distally trilobed aedeagus.
Description.
Adult (
Fig. 5
). Wingspan 14.5 ‒ 15.0 mm.
Head.
Vertex and frons orange yellow. Labial palpus yellowish white on dorsal surface, yellow with brown scales on ventral surface, second segment in male black near apex, in female ringed with dark brown near apex. Antenna with scape black on dorsal surface, yellow on ventral surface; flagellum yellow, ringed with black on dorsal surface.
Thorax.
Mesonotum orange yellow basally, black distally; tegula yellow except black at proximal base. Forewing orange yellow, with dense black scales; costal margin with black speckle at base; black speckle from base of dorsum oblique outward to fold, then extending along fold to near end of fold; discal spot black, short bar-shaped, above preceding speckle and parallel with it; postmedial fascia black, extending from about costal 1/2 to tornus; apical fascia narrowed along termen to postmedial fascia; fringe concolorous to forewing, mottled with black along termen. Hindwing and fringe blackish grey. Legs yellow, except tarsomeres 3 4 of foreleg black; on dorsal surface, femora of fore- and midlegs with black scales, tibia of foreleg with a black stripe, midleg with tibia black on distal half, tarsus black at middle of first tarsomere and at base of other tarsomeres; on outer surface, tibia of hindleg with grey scales on distal half, tarsus black at middle of first tarsomere.
Male genitalia
(
Fig. 22
). Uncus narrowed near base and at distal 1/4, arched outward, with long setae mediolaterally, slightly widened from distal 1/4 to obtuse apex. Gnathos with ventral plate smooth, extending outward anterolaterally. Valva with costal part almost uniformly wide from base to basal 1/3, thereafter widened towards obtuse apex; costa concave medially; dorso-proximal process clubbed, setose distally; sacculus slightly longer than half length of costal part of valva, narrowed from base to 2/3, produced to strong free distal process widened to obtuse apex, with a large spine-shaped dorsal process distally fused with valva. Juxta sub-trapezoidal. Saccus short, sub-trapezoidal. Aedeagus slightly longer than 3/5 length of costal part of valva, trilobed distally: one lobe from distal 1/4, slender, narrowed to pointed apex; second lobe from beyond middle, dilated distally, rounded at apex; third lobe from about same point as second, widened to obtuse apex, produced triangularly at one side, apically exceeding second lobe.
Female genitalia
(
Fig. 36
). Papilla anale bell-shaped, setose. Apophysis posterioris three times as long as apophysis anterioris. Eighth sternal plate concave at middle on posterior margin, forming two lobes with long setae. Lamella antevaginalis widely concave posteromedially, produced to triangular plate posterolaterally. Ductus bursae membranous, short. Corpus bursae membranous, elliptical; signum absent.
Distribution.
