Type species : Curoba fasciata Walker, [1865] 1864 (junior subjective synonym of Phalaena sangarida Stoll, 1782 ) Diagnosis: Antennae bipectinate in males, serrate in females. Forewing black-brown with an irregular whitish oblique band from middle of costa and reaching tornus. Labial palpi porrect. Hind tibia with two pairs of tibial spurs. Male genitalia with uncus deeply bifurcated. Valva c-shaped outer wall strongly sclerotizedin the form of a narrow rod-like structure, inner wall membraneous, conjoint with basally rectangular and apically bowl-shaped juxta. Aedeagus curved; vesica elongated with long series, from base to subapical, of minute spines at one long edge. Female genitalia with pair of pheromonal gland, papilla anales squarish, posterion apophyses slightly longer than anterion apophyses; corpus bursae longer than ductus bursae. Distribution : South India (Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu , Karnataka ), Srilanka, [SE Asia mainland].
