Syn. nov. Comments. A re-examination of the type of C. salsolae revealed that it belongs to the C. squamosus group (stated as “ungeklärte Gruppenzugehörigkeit” by Kuhlmann 2000 ) and that it is identical with C. omanus described from Oman . Colletes salsolae seems to be widespread on the southern Arabian Peninsula ( Kuhlmann 2004 , 2014) but the type specimen so far is the only record from the African continent ( Sudan , Khor Garar, 37°07'E 19°58'N ).
