Comments.
A re-examination of the
type
of
C. salsolae
revealed that it belongs to the
C. squamosus
group (stated as “ungeklärte Gruppenzugehörigkeit” by
Kuhlmann 2000
) and that it is identical with
C. omanus
described from
Oman
.
Colletes salsolae
seems to be widespread on the southern Arabian Peninsula (
Kuhlmann 2004
, 2014) but the
type
specimen so far is the only record from the African continent (
Sudan
, Khor Garar,
37°07'E
19°58'N
).
