Diagnosis.
One of six Australian species with striped elytra;
Ballantyne & Lambkin (2000:29)
distinguished
brevis
by a combination of characters including the convex–sided elytra, the poorly developed mouthparts and the acutely margined frons–vertex junction. Female, larva not associated.
