The type species of Guyalna ( Boulard & Martinelli 1996 ) , the species has an expanded timbal cover ( Fig. 5 ) covering most of the timbal cavity. It can be found in large numbers in the Chaco and Espinal floristic provinces in Argentina ( Sanborn et al. 2011 ; Sanborn & Heath 2014 ). It has a similar morphology to G. flavipronotum n. comb . There may be related yet undiscovered species between the known distributions of these species. Body length 29–37 mm , fore wing length 37–43 mm . Distribution. The species has been reported previously from Argentina , Brazil , and Paraguay ( Metcalf 1963 ; Duffels & van der Laan 1985 ; Sanborn 2011b ; 2013 ; Sanborn & Heath 2014 ).
