New data: Algarve, Cacela Velha, 11.iv.2017 , 1♂ , det. & leg. Cross Notes: The only other member of the Annosmia group in Iberia , the other being Hoplitis ( Hoplitis ) annulata (Latreille, 1811) , this species was described from the Alicante region of Spain . Male specimens can easily be separated based on the structure of the antennae and genitalia ( Le Goff 2003 ). It is perhaps slightly surprising to find it on the other side of the Iberian Peninsula but, given its recent description and lack of records, the species is probably widespread but unrecorded across Andalucía .
