Contributions to the taxonomy, identification, and biogeography of Thaumatogelis Schwarz, 1995 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) Author Vas, Zoltán Author Schwarz, Martin text Zootaxa 2018 2018-07-11 4444 4 421 436 journal article 29694 10.11646/zootaxa.4444.4.4 7dfb506d-672d-40e4-862a-1d9e2b9bc564 1175-5326 1309859 F4E26BFC-A168-41CD-A0B0-E938CE0B5CAB Genus Thaumatogelis Schwarz, 1995 The most useful character to separate Thaumatogelis Schwarz from Gelis Thunberg is the presence of striae on the lateral side of first tergite. In addition, the dorsal carina of the first tergite is lacking behind the spiracle, and the laterotergite of second tergite is reduced. Flagellum usually not widened to apex. The generic key of Schwarz (1995) is well applicable for the females of all known Thaumatogelis species, however with some limitations in the case of T. pilosus (Capron) , which is discussed below in detail.
