Caucalis leptophylla
Linnaeus
,
Species Plantarum
1
: 242. 1753
.
"Habitat in Gallia, Italia." RCN: 1942.
Type not designated.
Original material:
Herb. Burser XIV(2): 55 (
UPS
)
; [icon] in Colonna, Ekphr.: 96, 97. 1606.
Current name:
Torilis leptophylla
(L.) Rchb.
f. (
Apiaceae
).
Note:
There are some difficulties with this name. While usually applied to a species of
Torilis
, the diagnosis suggests a true
Caucalis
, as do the associated Burser material and cited Colonna element. The name may be in need of conservation with a conserved type.
