The centipede family Anopsobiidae new to North America, with the description of a new genus and species and notes on the Henicopidae of North America and the Anopsobiidae of the Northern Hemisphere (Chilopoda, Lithobiomorpha) Author Shear, William A. text Zootaxa 2018 4422 2 259 283 journal article 29146 10.11646/zootaxa.4422.2.6 47816d99-6645-43ad-a52d-33cc68a6a7c7 1175-5326 1455619 F6658C2B-9681-430A-8975-7B3AE2C233EE Hedinobius hummelii Verhoeff, 1934 Hedinobius hummelii Verhoeff, 1934 : 32 ; Zapparoli & Edgecombe 2011 : 375 . Hedinobius hummelii was described from a single female from “Fu-shu-shi,” in the Tien Shan of western China . There is a city Fushun in Liaoning Province , and “shi” is generally taken to mean “city.” This may be the type locality. Verhoeff compared Hedinobius to Cermatobius (as Esastigmatobius , a junior synonym), and placed it in Zygethobiinae (now Zygethobiini ) as did Zapparoli & Edgecombe (2011) . The genus Hedinobius seems to differ from Dzhungaria only in having coxal spines on both the 14th and 15th leg-pairs, as in Ghilaroviella . Clearly the three Central Asian genera need re-evaluation based on examination of the type specimens. It seems arbitrary to place Dzhungaria in Anopsobiidae and Hedinobius in Zygethobiini .
