Diagnosis.
Afroptera leptocera
is recognised by the pronounced blackish stripes on the thorax and the whitish yellow antennae.
Size
(mm). Male: body length 9.1 (8.1–10); forewing 21.8 (20–23.1); hind wing 50.2 (45–54.3); antenna 19.1 (15– 21.3); Female: body length 10.3 (8.4–12); forewing 21.4 (19–23.4); hind wing 45.7 (41–52); antenna 13 (10.5–14). (N = 22).

Distribution and habitat.
This species seems to be endemic to
Namibia
where its main distribution falls within the
Namibia
Savanna Woodlands Ecoregion (
Fig. 152
