Etymology
. The specific name indicates occurrence of the species in the East.
Description
: Total length 1.34. Carapace 0.64 long, 0.48 wide, gray-brown-yellow (dark brown in original description). Carapace modified, with two outgrowths in cephalic area (
Figs. 1–2
): rostrum-like outgrowth with anterior median eyes and dorsal outgrowth carrying posterior median eyes. Postocular sulci and cephalic pits absent. Dorsal outgrowth with longitudinal furrow. Sternum 0.35 long and 0.33 wide, colored as carapace, slightly darkened on margins. Its surface is smooth and shining. Abdomen uniformly gray (darker than carapace, with grayish hue, according to the original description). Chelicera with 5 teeth on outer margin. Leg spination 1111; length of spine on tibia I and II = 0.2 of tibial diameter; spine on tibia III = of 0.47 tibial diameter; spine on tibia IV = 0.53 of tibial diameter. Trichobothrium position on metatarsi: I – 0.65, II – 0.66, III – 0.55. Trichobothrium on metatarsus IV absent.
Length of leg joints.

FIGURES 1–2.
Carapace of the holotype of
Oculocornia orientalis
, dorsal and lateral, respectively. Scale = 0.1 mm.
Palp
. Palp as in
Figs. 3–8
, relatively short. Tibia with one trichobothrium and three apophyses on the dorsal side: large two-armed (bifid) dorsal tibial apophysis (
Da
) and two small conical apophyses (
D1
&
D2
) near the base of
Da
. Dorsal tibial apophysis with two arms: mesal (prolateral) triangle shaped (
Dm
) and elongate terminal (or retrolateral,
Dt
). Both arms have scaled surface (
Figs. 3, 6
). Small conical apophyses are subequal in size (
Figs. 3, 6
). Besides tibial apophyses there is a tibial lobe (
Tl
) which partly hides the paracymbium (
Pa
). Cymbium modified: it has a longitudinal furrow (
Cf
) along the prolateral edge of the dorsal tibial apophysis (
Fig. 6
). It seems that this furrow serves to fix the apophysis. Paracymbium small, its mesal part partly hidden by the tibial lobe.
Subtegulum (
St
) relatively small, it equal to ½ of bulbus height. Tegulum small, with relatively thin seminal duct (
Sd
) and seemingly undivided protegulum (
Pr
). Suprategulum with marginal apophysis abrupt on the tip (
Ms
) and enlarged pointed distal apophysis (
Ds
). The latter ends behind the protegulum (
Fig. 3
). Embolic membrane (
Me
) long, with toothed terminal part. Embolic division large, spiral-shaped. Tailpiece (
Tp
) long, anterior radical process (
Ar,
terminal outgrowth of the embolic division) thin and long, sharply pointed, united by a membrane (cf.
Fig. 8
) with embolus proper (
Em
) and following it. Anterior radical process slightly shorter than embolus. It is fused with the embolus, along its entire length, by a thin transparent membrane. Embolus flattened with two small processes, mesal (
Pm
) and terminal (
Pt
). Tip of embolus widened by a kind of lamellamembrane.
Female unknown.
Diagnosis
. Same as for genus.
Habitat
. This species was found in litter of mixed forest. The valley, in this locality, annually floods during autumn typhoons and water remains for one-two days (
Oliger, 1985
).
