The subspecies was formally described by Kaszab (1962), but a year before, SKOPIN (1961) already indicated, without giving a name, that Kaszab considered the populations of the Dzhungarian Alatau as a separate subspecies. Distribution. Kazakhstan : to the northeast of Ili River, spruce groves in Dzungarian Alatau ( SKOPIN 1961 , KASZAB 1962).
