Rondani (1871a: 318)
described
Aspilia alpestris
from just the female sex, without specifying the exact
number
of specimens: “
legi specimina aliqua foeminea
[I collected some female specimens]”. He later (
Rondani 1877c: 87
) reported
two females
: “
Mas ignotus
. Faeminas duas alpinas possideo
[Male unknown. I have
two females
from the Alps]”.
