Bulgaria : Stara Planina Mts., Central Balkan National Park; Rila Mts., Musala Hut ( type locality), Granchar Peak, Rila National Park ( Vagalinski & Stoev 2007 ). World distribution. Known only from Bulgaria , from the higher parts of Rila and Stara Planina Mts. Remarks. Not a strictly alpine species but occupying subalpine and alpine habitats, known only from the highest parts of Rila, Stara Planina and Rhodopi Mts. ( Beron 1999 ). However, individuals from these three areas show no differences either in their morphology or in gonopod details.
