Diagnosis
. Body uniformly brown to dark brown; antennal segments I to VIII uniformly brown to dark brown; fore wings uniformly shaded. Head with cheeks straight (
Fig. 51
). Antennal segment II with some microtrichial rows; VI slightly broad (
Fig. 52
). Pronotum with about 35 discal setae (
Fig. 51
). Mesonotum without CPS anteromedially; median pair of setae near posterior margin. Metascutum irregularly reticulated medially; median pair of setae near anterior margin. Fore wings with 24–26 setae on costal vein. Abdominal terga without ciliate microtrichia on lines of sculpture, but often with a few dentate microtrichia, smooth medially (
Fig. 53
), posterior margin of terga V to VII with microtrichia developed laterally; tergum II with four lateral marginal setae; terga VI to VIII with B4 setae minute (
Fig. 53
); tergum IX with both anterior and posterior pairs of CPS (
Fig. 53
); sterna without discal setae. Male has antennal segment VI much longer than that of female with numerous long setae and without microtrichia (
Fig. 54
). Abdominal terga VI to VIII with B4 setae minute; tergum IX with a pair of CPS near B1 setae, with SB1 setae vestigial (
Fig. 55
); sterna IV to VIII with one to six discal setae. Hypomere expanded at apex (
Fig. 55
).

Comments
. This mediumsized brown to dark brown species appears to be distributed widely in the Palaearctic Region, and it is very similar to
M. egonoki
as discussed below.
