Clypeus apico-medially bevelled, truncated or slightly emarginated; anterior carina of pronotal collar bending towards insertion of fore coxa; IOC distinct; POD equal to OOD; punctuation on head and mesosoma not very marked, obsolete punctures beyond lateral ocelli; Gt 1 and Gt 2 immaculate. Clypeus apico-medially bevelled, truncated or slightly emarginated ( Fig. 28 ); IOC distinct; POD equal to OOD ( Fig. 26 ); anterior bordering carina of pronotal collar bending towards insertion of fore coxa; Gt 1 pedunculate; black with following parts variously coloured: scape yellow; mandible yellow with apex reddish; pronotal collar, except on medial notch and pronotal lobe yellow; prepectus dorsal third yellow; axilla and scutellum anteriorly yellow ( Fig. 29 ); fore and mid femora brown with ventral and apical yellow patch, fore and mid tibiae yellow with inner part brown; hind femur brown; hind tibia yellow with uneven brown patches; Gt 1 and Gt 2 immaculate ( Fig. 31 ); Gt 3 –Gt 5 with markedly smaller patches laterally ( Fig. 32 ). Male . Unknown. For details, see male of Dasyproctus idrieus (Cameron) . Distribution. India : Andhra Pradesh , Assam , Kerala , Rajasthan , Uttarakhand , Tamil Nadu . Note. Since the male of Crabro idrieus Cameron no longer falls within the limits of D. buddha (Cameron) , the authors feel it judicious to treat the male of D. buddha as unknown.
