Diplommatina cyclostoma is characterized by the spindle shaped, very closely ribbed shell with a circular peristome. Shell ( Fig. 25 ; Table 1 ). Dextral; spindle-shaped with conical early whorls and a narrowed last whorl; with 5.5–6 whorls separated by a deep suture; protoconch smooth; teleoconch with fine, oblique ribs (84–116 on the penultimate whorl; fewer on the last whorl); without discernible spiral striae between the ribs; light corneous; subtranslucent; last whorl rounded, with an indistinct ventral constriction; aperture circular; upper insertion of peristome distinctly ascending towards aperture; insertions of the peristome connected by a distinct callus; the peristome slightly expanded, thickened, not doubled or only doubled on columellar and basal side; aperture with a low columellar lamella, which is sometimes missing; without parietal lamella; with a short spiral palatal fold ventrolaterally left inside last whorl in the middle of the whorl and with a long radial palatal fold ventrally; umbilicus closed; operculum thin, corneous, circular, paucispiral. Shell height 2.9–3.25 mm , shell diameter 1.6– 1.95 mm . Remarks. Diplommatina cyclostoma differs from D. baliana , which was erroneously synonymized with D. cyclostoma by Vermeulen & Whitten (1998) , in the larger shell with close-set ribs without discernible spiral striae between the ribs.
