History of the group
:
Jäch (2002)
considered
M. jureceki
similar to
M. isus
, both species differing in body size, pronotal and elytral width, elytral sculpture, size of prosternal process, and impressions on metasternum and first abdominal sternite; besides these differences, the male genitalia of these two species are completely different, dissimilar enough to separate them in different species groups, as proposed here. Brown wrote in an unpublished letter that
M. jereceki
resembles
M
.
tarsalis
“in dimensions and general appearance”, but their genitalia differ considerably (see
grandis
species group;
Jäch 2002
).
