Angela peruviana ( Giglio-Tos, 1916 ) [MD] Thespis peruviana Giglio-Tos, 1916 Type locality . Giglio-Tos (1916) : Madre de Dios ( Peru ). Examined material . MADRE DE DIOS : 1 ♂ ( HOLOTYPE ), 500m Ob[ere] Madre de Dios [=upper Madre de Dios river] (Garlepp V. leg.) ( MFNB ). Remarks . The patterning of the hindwings of the male holotype of peruviana is comparable to that of the widespread guianensis , and both species are knwon from Madre de Dios , in southeastern Peru . We believe both names likely refer to the same species. Future taxonomic treatments of Angela must rule out this possible synonym.
