Diagnosis.
Ematheudes
is characterized by a narrow valva with basal sclerotised process (enlarged and spikeshaped in Afrotropical species) on the costal margin in combination with medially split uncus in the male genitalia. The female genitalia are recognizable by a short medial emargination on the posterior margin of sternum VIII in combination with a signum in the shape of rounded plate covered with short spines.
Peoria
is very similar but ductus bursae is usually narrower and subostial lobes are absent. Externally
Ematheudes
species are rather broad winged
Anerastiini
with long weakly downcurved labial palpus, which may be confused with species of the genus
Hypsotropa
,
but labial palpus in latter are upturned.
