Etymology.
This species is named for the collector of the
holotype
, A. C. Eyles.
Diagnosis.
Specimens of
S. eylesi
are similar in appearance to those of
S. gracilis
,
S. pseudogracilis
,
S. clarkei
,
S. ramsayi
, and
S. domettensis
but can be distinguished by the shape of the male genitalia (
Fig. 4i
). Members of this species can be separated from those of
S. egmontensis
and
S. stewartensis
by the glossy dorsal surface of the head (
Fig. 1o
).
Description.
Length
1.75 mm

Head
: Wingless male head approximately 1.28 times longer than wide, eye 0.68 times longer than temple. Wingless male antennomere 3 subquadrate, 4 slightly longer than wide, 5–7 subquadrate.
Thorax
: Pronotum approximately 1.07 times longer than wide. Wingless male elytra approximately 1.32 times longer than pronotum. Wingless male meso- and metaventrites trapezoidal, approximately 1.16 times longer than pronotum.
Aedeagus
: Apical lobe of male genitalia not bifid (

). Right paramere broader than left, setae present at tip and middle (

).

Habitat.
Specimens of this species were collected by sifting grass litter.
