Occurs in the west of the Greater Caucasus, in Transcaucasia and in north-eastern Iran ( Skorikov 1938 , Baker 1996 ). Remarks: In Azerbaijan it is found in the Lesser Caucasus, in low mountain forests, xerophyte formations and steppe meadows ( Aliev 1984 ). In Talysh in mountain steppes up to 2400 m . Nest unknown. Food plants: Salvia viridis .
