A new species of the genus Sonotetranychus (Acari: Tetranychidae) from New Zealand Author Yi, Tian-Ci Author Zhang, Zhi-Qiang text Zootaxa 2013 3721 4 334 350 journal article 10.11646/zootaxa.3721.4.2 1675ac04-5514-4cdf-ab0c-4851a49d78ad 1175-5326 254518 C0AB1442-562E-4DD3-AF00-4DD58BEEB2A0 Sonotetranychus tawhairauriki Zhang & Bennett, 2009 Type specimens of this species were examined during this study for comparison with the new species. We noted that the palp tarsus of Sonotetranychus species, including S. tawhairauriki Zhang & Bennett , has 7 setiform structures: 3 simple setae ( a , b , c ), 3 eupathidia ( ul’ζ , ul”ζ , suζ ) and a solenidion ( ω ). Seta c was misinterpreted as being l”PTi in the original description of S. tawhairauriki (Zhang & Bennett 2009, p. 167, Fig. 16 ). In deutonymph, coxal setae 4b was misinterpreted as the seta on trochanter IV.
