REMARKS.—This is a fairly large, reddish species of
Carineta
. It can be distinguished easily from all other Ecuador- ian species of the genus by its color, the pair of piceous spots in the ambient pronotal fissure anterior to the pronotal collar on either side of the midline, and the fact that the head and pronotum form an obvious triangle.
