Reared from tuberous twig galls of Callirhytis quercuspunctata (Basset, 1863) (= Cynips q. podagrae Walsh, 1864 ), probably on Q. velutina , the black oak ( Walsh 1864 ; Burks 1979 ). Remarks . The type material of Synergus mendax was examined and the species was redescribed and illustrated by Lobato-Vila et al . (2019).
