Holotype male Jericho, 9.VII. Paratype male: Jericho, 1.VII ( Tel Aviv ). Synonymized with Homonotus aegyptiacus (RADOSZKOWKSI, 1888) by PRIESNER, 1966: 149 . D i a g n o s i s: The species differs from remaining palaearctic species by a red apex of abdomen (red are tergites IV-VI in females and tergites III-VI in males). Clypeus and antennae are red. F e m a l e: 7.5- 10 mm . Colour: Black with the following parts light red: clypeus, mandible, antenna including scape, tarsi, abdominal segments III-VI. Clypeus, parts of legs and declivity of propodeum with long white pubescence. Tibial spurs white, wings slightly infuscate. Morphology: Apical clypeal margin evenly rounded. Gena above somewhat shorter than scape, below half as long as scape. Scutellum and metanotum without impression, apically truncate, resp. rounded (metanotum). Longer hindtibal spur as long as hindtibia. M a l e. Body length 6,5-9 mm . Colour: Black, red are: Apical clypeal margin, antenna (apically darker), tergites and sternites III-VII, tarsal segments partly. Wings somewhat infuscate, apical spurs of mid- and hindtibia whitish. Morphology: Apical clypeal evenly rounded, without any emargination. Gena narrow, as large as 1,5 hindocellar diameter. Distance between hindocellus and hindmargin of head as long as 0,6x length of antennal segment III. Metanotum flat, apically rounded.
