McClure 1143 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 7648) ( syntype : PNH , destroyed, A 00093052 image!, NY 00328905 image!, NY 00328906 image!). The name Radermachera hainanensis Merr. was validly published with two gatherings “ McClure 7648 ” and “ Hongkong Herbarium 453 ” cited in the protologue ( Merrill , 1922a ), but no holotype was designated. However , the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen of “ McClure 7648 ” in A is actually 1143, while its herbarium number is 7648. Thus, the collecting number citation in the protologue is erroneous.
