( Fig. 1 , photos 3, 6) Material examined: Holotype , Malaysia , Penang , Aceh Forest Reserve , 2km W Telok Bahang , 5–6 VIII 1993 , R .Schuh lg. ( CEHI ); 1♀ paratype collected with holotype. Description: As the generic description is already detailed and based on the type specimens, only few additional characters are added here. Head: Slightly longer than wide across eyes (25/24), genae surpassing clypeus, contiguous in front but leaving a notch between enlarged rounded apices; antennae short, 1.1x as long as width of head (26.7/24) segment I bent outward, thickest and longest, following ones thinner and straight; length of I/II/III/IV = 8.2/5/ 7/6.5; anteriorly diverging antenniferous lobes with rounded apices; postocular lobes granulate and converging toward smooth collar; vertex granulate. FIGURES 1–4. head and thorax. 1— Schuhaptera penangensis n. gen., n. sp. , holotype ♀ (Malaysia, Penang); 2— Bengalaria gibbosa , paratype ♀ (India, Darjeeling); 3— Pahangiessa bulboscutellata , holotype ♂ (Malaysia, Cameron Highlands); 4— Parapictinus ovatus , paratype ♀ (India, Madura). Abbreviations: deltg I, II, III—dorsal external laterotergites I, II, III; mtg I, II—mediotergites I, II; msc—metathoracal scent gland canal; wp—wingpads. Arrows indicate different structures. Scale 1 mm. PHOTOS 1–9. 1, 4— Parataiwanaptera laevigata n. gen., n. sp . , holotype , dorsal and ventral view; 2, 5— Taiwanaptera glabra , paratype , dorsal and ventral view; 3, 6— Schuhaptera penangensis n. gen., n. sp . , holotype , dorsal and ventral view; 7— Pahangiessa bulboscutellata , holotype , dorsal view; 8— Parapictinus ovatus , paratype , dorsal view; 9— Bengalaria gibbosa , paratype , dorsal view. Pronotum: About 2.7x as wide as long at middle (38/14); granulate ringlike collar produced over rounded anterolateral angles; lateral margins converging anteriorly; surface granulate. Scutellum: 2.3x as wide at base as long (23/10), lateral and basal margins granulate, median longitudinal rows of granules slightly elevated, smooth laterad; posterior margin widely rounded. Hemelytra: Sclerotized wingpads of polygonal shape, as long as scutellum, posterior margin nearly straight, surface granulate. Abdomen: Structure and sutures of fused mediotergites I+II as well as of fused mtg III–VI forming the tergal plate and deltg I+II and III–VII as in the generic description. Measurements: Holotype : length 5.2 mm (5.8); width across wingpads 45; width of abdomen across tergite IV 56; paratype : length 5.8 mm , antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 9/6/7.5/7, ratio length of antennae / width of head 1.18; head length / width 27/25, pronotum w/l 44/16; scutellum w/l 26/11; width across wingpads 50, width of abdomen across tergite IV 65. Etymology: Referring to the Malaysian Island of Penang , where these specimens have been collected.
