Remark . Pyralis cardinalis can be confused with Pyralis regalis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) which is distributed all over Ukraine , but P. cardinalis is well characterized by antemedial line of forewing, which is medially widened outwardly, and hindwing with distinct purple shade.
