In Italy , it is currently recorded only in the Delta of the Po ( Veneto ) ( Platnick & Murphy 1984 ) and in the Sicilian locality of Oasi del Simeto ( Di Franco 2001 ). This Mediterranean species shows a widespread distributional range which is possibly related to human activity and to its wide ecological tolerance.
