Diagnosis. Ichneumon unicinctus is a dark species, distinguished within the studied area by its unique coloration
pattern: background of meso- and metasoma black with white to pale yellow spots and stripes. The extent of these
maculae is sex-dependant.
Host records. Charadrina sp., Sciomesa biluma and Sesamia calamistis ( Lepidoptera : Noctuidae ), the latter on sugarcane ( Saccharum officinarum ) ( Zwart 1998 ).
