COMMENTS
: Mathews gave his catalog number of the
holotype
in the original description. He cataloged the single specimen, which is a migrant individual of the nominate subspecies (
Ford, 1981a
;
Schodde and Mason, 1999: 186
). In addition to Rogers’ field label, and Mathews and Rothschild type labels, the specimen also bears a yellow ‘‘Figured’’ label, indicating that it was illustrated in
Mathews (1920a
: pl. 386, opp. p. 170, text pp. 171, 174), where it is confirmed as the type of
dendyi
.
