Diagnostic characters : The species is easily separable from other members of the group by having an inferior volsella with a proximal enlargement, a strong apical antennal seta, single spur on mid tibia, 7 antepronotals and 22 dorsocentrals. The male imago is redescribed by Saether (2006: 27) . Ecology and distribution Tokunaga (1936: 311) gives the habitat as the tidal zone of a gravely shore. The species is known from Japan including the Bonin (Ogasawara) Islands and from Kiritinati ( Christmas Island ).
